You may clear browser cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Doing so may cause Beauty Bookend to request your preferences again.

3. Country Detection

Beauty Bookend uses a Cloudflare-hosted country-detection service to determine the approximate country associated with a visitor's network connection.

The purpose of this country detection is to determine whether the Silktide consent interface should be shown before Analytics storage is enabled.

The country-detection request may involve technical information, including an IP address, being processed by Cloudflare as part of providing the service.

Beauty Bookend does not use this feature to determine a visitor's precise physical location.

4. Regions Where the Consent Banner Is Used

Beauty Bookend currently requires an explicit Analytics choice for visitors detected in:

In these regions, Analytics storage begins in a denied state and remains denied unless the visitor accepts Analytics.

For visitors detected in other countries, Beauty Bookend's current regional configuration may enable Analytics automatically.

5. Silktide Consent Manager

Beauty Bookend uses the Silktide Consent Manager to manage Analytics choices in consent-required regions.

The visitor's choice is stored in browser local storage.

The saved preference applies to Beauty Bookend in that browser profile. It is not stored separately for each country.

For example, changing your VPN from one European country to another does not automatically erase a previous Beauty Bookend Analytics choice.

If a saved preference exists, the full consent banner may not appear again on a later visit even if your apparent country changes.

6. Google Analytics

Beauty Bookend uses Google Analytics 4 to understand general website usage and improve the Site.

Beauty Bookend does not use Google Analytics for the purpose of personally identifying individual visitors.

7. Google Consent Mode

Beauty Bookend uses Google's Advanced Consent Mode.

When a page initially loads, Analytics storage is configured as denied. The Google tag may nevertheless load.

When analytics_storage is denied, Google states that first-party Analytics cookies are not read or written. Google may still receive limited cookieless signals for measurement and modelling.

If Analytics consent is granted, the consent state is updated and Google Analytics may use Analytics storage and receive normal measurement data.

For visitors in countries where Beauty Bookend does not require an explicit Analytics choice under its current configuration, Analytics storage may be updated to granted automatically.

8. Advertising Technologies

Beauty Bookend does not currently use the consent system to enable personalized advertising.

10. What Happens If Analytics Is Rejected?

In a consent-required region, rejecting Analytics keeps analytics_storage denied.

Google Analytics does not read or write first-party Analytics cookies while Analytics storage is denied.

Because Beauty Bookend uses Advanced Consent Mode, Google may still receive limited cookieless signals for measurement and modelling purposes.

Rejecting Analytics does not prevent you from reading normal Beauty Bookend content.

11. What Happens If Analytics Is Accepted?

If you accept Analytics, Beauty Bookend updates analytics_storage to granted.

Google Analytics can then use Analytics storage and process normal measurement information according to Google's policies and Beauty Bookend's Analytics configuration.

12. Managing Your Preferences

Where the Silktide consent manager is available, you can use its preferences control to review or change your Analytics choice.

You can also delete cookies and local storage through your browser settings.

Deleting the saved Silktide preferences may cause Beauty Bookend to treat you as a new visitor and request a new consent choice where applicable.

13. Changing Countries or Using a VPN

The consent choice stored by Silktide is associated with Beauty Bookend and your browser profile. It is not stored as a separate choice for every country.

If you make a consent choice while connected from one country and later use the same browser while connected through another country or VPN location, the previously saved Beauty Bookend preference may still apply.

Clearing Beauty Bookend's local storage removes the stored Silktide preference and allows the consent process to be tested again as a new visit.
